Anthura is one of the top 10 leading orchid growers in the world. And to top it off, they developed a new kind of orchid. Generally considered a ‘B to B’ company they decided to introduce their new plant as a ‘B to C’ brand and asked us to develop the campaign.
Together, we created the Garden Orchid concept, for the first orchid that survives through winter and grows in early spring. Bringing colour to dark and dull spots in the garden. Every year, after winter, the plant grows a little and returns with flowers.
During the design process Anthura was still developing the orchid, creating many exciting challenges. There were few pictures of the product available and customers, in-store, could only see a tiny stem. This made it difficult to visualise the plant in full bloom.
Inspired by the botanical style, we chose to illustrate the plants, by hand, and design the packaging to accommodate the entire illustration. This allows the consumer to immediately understand the promise of the plant.
To contrast with the organic, hand-drawn illustrations we designed a recognisable, clean logo with letters playfully coming together. The area around the logo indicates the frame of the garden. To top it off, we selected a fresh colour palette to create the impression of ‘a tropical paradise in your own garden’.

We drew the essential elements of each orchid separately to allow flexible flower combinations and looks. This created a unique style for each plant that really made them leap off the shelves.
